Community Based Prevention Services
We know first-hand the devastating impact that accompany drug and alcohol problems as well as
the potential that accompanies the use of effective prevention programs.
At Breaking Free we are committed to helping individuals
and families live in a community where everyone reaches their full potential. We work with the community as a whole, building on existing
strengths and working towards the common goal of healthy, drug-free communities. We use nationally-recognized evidence-based curricula
that have been proven to prevent youth alcohol and drug use in schools and community settings to ensure that our children reach their
full potential.
Our portfolio includes curricula such as: LifeSkills Training, Too Good for Drugs, and Guiding Good Choices.
Each curriculum builds skills and teaches youth how to make healthy choices. Additional approaches include ongoing youth mentoring
programs, Social Norms Marketing campaigns in high schools, Public Awareness Campaigns in middle schools, and the development and
support of community coalition, such as the Aurora Red Ribbon Task Force.
We touch more than 12,000 individuals annually through
our programming. The following specialized programs and services are provided by Breaking Free:
- After School Programs
- Classroom Based
Programs
- Youth Mentoring Programs
